Frequently Asked Questions (Tattoo Aftercare)

1. How long should I keep Saniderm wrap on my new tattoo?

You should keep Saniderm on for three to five days. If you notice any plasma leakage before this period, it's recommended to come in for a replacement piece.

2. What should I use after removing Saniderm?

After removing Saniderm, it's recommended to use antibacterial soap, such as Dial, along with Aquaphor or a non-scented lotion (apply a very thin layer). Avoid using products that contain petroleum.

3. What do you recommend for cleaning?

I recommend Dr. Bronner's soap with tea tree oil for cleaning. It's organic and versatile. For cleaning, dilute it with water: 10 drips of tea tree oil for a large bottle, 6 for a medium, and 2 for a small. It's suitable for tattoo aftercare.

4. What moisturizer is recommended after a shower?

After a shower, it's suggested to use almond oil for moisturizing. You can apply it multiple times, and it's breathable. Please note that this option is suitable only if you're not allergic to nuts.

Don't pick or scratch: As your tattoo heals, it will scab and peel. Do not pick at the scabs or scratch the tattoo, as this can lead to ink loss and infection.

Avoid sun and water exposure: Protect your tattoo from direct sunlight and do not submerge it in water, such as in swimming pools, hot tubs, or baths, until it's fully healed. Sun exposure can cause fading, and soaking can increase the risk of infection.
